HESPER HAN

As a Vietnamese woman who has lived, studied, and worked in Korea since 2018, I always tell people that I didn’t choose the marine industry — this industry chose me. My work sits right at the point where operations, vendors, and clients intersect. As a Commercial Assistant, I work closely with divers and vendors across Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, and the west coast of Korea, along with clients in the marine industry, while also supporting the Commercial Manager with local job. I handle quotations with profit calculations, manage tide windows, negotiate with vendors, troubleshoot reporting issues, coordinate inspections, and gather feedback for each opportunity. What matters most to me is customer needs. In my world, the customer truly comes first. To keep everything running smoothly: • divers know exactly what to clean, measure, or photograph • clients understand the real condition and the real cost • vendors understand the expected standards • and reports reflect what actually happened underwater I’m still growing in this field — strengthening vendor relationships, balancing commercial expectations with operational reality, and learning from divers and technical teams. The underwater world is never predictable, and I won’t say I’m comfortable — but I’ve learned how to manage it and keep things moving.
