Experience

Manufacturing Engineer
• Design assembly fixtures and implement improved manufacturing processes for yield improvement, ergonomics, and cost reduction of vascular and neurovascular embolization coils. • Support multiple high volume product lines at a fast paced growing medical device company. • Interacted with product builders and supervisors to find solutions to problems on the line. • Perform investigations to determine root cause of product failure on the production lines, propose corrective actions, and conducting process validation activities. • Worked with statistical process control and performed and closed CCI, NCR, and CAPA investigations. • Familiar with QSR, ISO and GMP regulations.

Mechanical Engineering Intern
Menlo Park, California
Mechanical Engineer Project Support for the Coherent X-Ray Imaging (CXI) instrument in the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) department. Designed multiple in-vacuum instruments for physicists' experiments at CXI. Designed the motorization of a crystal analyzer used as a spectrometer to reflect scattering x-rays, after hitting a protein sample, to the detector. Worked on adding new motorization, switching to piezo motors to stepper motors, of existing designs for beam shielding. Learned detailed drafting techniques, including some GD&T, and designing for in-vacuum. Other skills acquired were communication with physicists, machinists, and vendors, and recognizing that unprecedented obstacles can arise; this was especially important for meeting deadlines when designing for scheduled experiments.

MAE Undergraduate Researcher in Biomechanics Laboratory
Ithaca, New York Area
Worked on producing and analyzing osteoporosis drug treatment using bone remodeling simulations in Matlab. Used the simulation to model different drug treatment regimes including periods of drug suspensions known as drug holidays to possibly reduce the risk of osteoporosis related fractures and atypical femoral fractures in the future.

EEDP Mechanical Engineering Intern
Greater Milwaukee Area
Worked with Python electron optics simulations to manipulate output data. Used Matlab to produced organized plots in matrix format pertaining to focal spot measurements for improved data visualization and analysis that will better relate information and see trends between different inputs for the output focal spots and electron beam paths in the x-ray tube. This was needed to assess focal spot issues and determine optimal settings for desired focal spot specifications in order to further develop the next generation Janus X-ray tube. Electron optics data I produced and visualized was also used to determine design alterations for the Janus X-ray tube collector.

MAE Undergraduate Researcher: Eyeball ROV
Cambridge, MA
Designed and developed CAD models for underwater spherical robot for inspection of cracks and corrosion of nuclear power plant pipes. Developed laser signal strength data for non line of sight localization of robot using LabView and Matlab.
