As Learning Innovation Manager at Gateshead College I am responsible for managing a diverse and dynamic team of staff dedicated in developing a range of e-Learning packages to enhance teaching, learning and assessment. I have successfully managed large and small projects through JISC and LSIS, the most successful of which was “The Innovation Chain”. This involved training a core team of staff to use technology which they had to disseminate to their team. Wikkis were used on the VLE to record the training and this ensured that we reached out to all staff in all departments. This was a highly successful project using simple yet effective tools which staff engaged with. I am passionate about technology and developing new and innovative ways of motivating both staff and learners. I have recently taken on the challenge of looking after the IT Services and Network team at Gateshead College. Working with the team I am seeking to position Gateshead College at the forefront of technology.
