Design and manufacturing manager for Uskees. Experience in designing and taking a garment from initial idea to manufacture. Experience in liaising with suppliers, critical path management, understanding of the importance of costings and margins. Managerial experience throughout career in other roles also, meeting KPIs and driving businesses forward. I have in past roles helped to develop my team so they go on to achieve more. Currently working for uskees. I am the original designer, garment technologist, merchandiser for this brand. Responsible for initial research into the brand looking at fabric, construction, trims, colour and thus leading to the original collection which includes the best selling 3001. Experienced in the sampling process and ensuring that garments are accurate and to specifications specified before they move to bulk production. Thorough with all details, ensuring that the end product is made to a high standard. This process involves using Pantone references and having a keen eye for detail. Shades are matched as closely as possible taking into account all different lights. Close working relationship with suppliers abroad and in the UK. from initial samples through to production I work closely with different teams in various countries to achieve the best results. I have built due diligence into the way that the design and manufacturing team work. Ensuring that we are compliant is important to me so be it a wash care label or fabric/garment testing, I am insistent on having robust processes in place. I am up to date with rules and regulations such as GPSR. Working closely with our wholesale manager and with selling agents, ensuring that they have a comprehensive salesman sample set so they can present the brand in its best light. Providing the team with technical details so they can compile comprehensive buying guides and thus arming the agents with all necessary information to sell the range. Currently working with suppliers in India, China, Turkey and the UK.
