During my spare time I have been a member of many theatre groups over the years, taking leading roles and being part of the company. I am now a member of Voices.com, being employed as a freelance voice over artist, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Have a BBC type of voice, however am versatile in that I can do various characters and dialects, from old man/woman - child, including cockney, northern, Scottish, Irish and German...plus others. I found having been in the medical and teaching fields has been a great assist...being confident in doing voice-overs video, audio work for hospitals and schools.

Employed to set up a regional craft and food fair

I studied British Sign Language up to level 3 and saw the need for the knowledge of Sign Language in the workplace. I therefore designed a full Signed Supported English course that could be studied for 6 weeks. The course was structured as such that my student would be equipped to be able to fully communicate with a deaf person in work and social situations. Some of my students went on to teach this course for themselves.

I worked as a personal assistant for Dr G Tomlinson for 5 years - managing his diary, meetings, liaising with patients and other professionals. I was also responsible for the associate psychiatrist's workload, the community nurse team and the resident SHO's in the hospital. I cherished this job and would have stayed working here had I not had a severe car accident.
