• Performed rapid appraisal of a public-private partnership delivering a community-based cancer screening and treatment program in Assam through patient and stakeholder analysis and interviews, consultations with global oncology experts, and literature review. • Designed optimization measures and guidelines for screening process, team utilization, community mobilization, and data capture.

• Collaborated with 20 other Community Health Worker experts to develop a collaborative report about the history, trends and future of CHW programs in Latin America

• In the wake of the Ebola crisis, collaborated with a team of experts from UNICEF, International Rescue Committee, World Vision International, John Snow, Inc. and Partners in Health to perform a large-scale revision of the national Community Health Workers (CHWs) Program as part of the Ministry’s efforts to restructure and strengthen the national health system • Participate in the re-writing of the training curriculum for 15,000 CHWs regarding community-based surveillance, integrated Community Case Management (iCCM) and Reproductive, Maternal, and Child Health

• Co-founded and managed the PIH-México Community Health Worker Program • Designed, implemented, and monitored the first formally studied community health worker program in México for the management of chronic diseases in 8 rural communities with 600 beneficiaries in a catchment area of 50,000 people • Collaborated with Partners in Health on cross-site projects, including working with the Ministry of Health in Rwanda to add non-communicable disease to the CHW’s program on a national level • Advised the National Center for Prevention and Chronic Disease Programs (CENEPRECE) on how to collaborate with CHWs to improve chronic disease management in one of the 240 special care units throughout México • Founded and led a multidisciplinary malnutrition intervention in collaboration with Heifer International, the Ministry of Health in Mexico and two rural communities with 78 participating families.

• Led and supervised the implementation of government primary care initiatives including family planning, prenatal care, immunization, chronic disease care, and community health programs • Served as capacitation coordinator for traditional births attendants in eight communities in the municipality of Siltepec, Chiapas • Obtained funding and logistic support from the Hesperian Foundation to bring an experienced obstetrician from the Brigham Women’s Hospital to assist with capacity building • Developed a community-based network to respond to obstetric emergencies in Siltepec municipality • Designed and implemented a community garden program in the community of Soledad in rural Chiapas
