During Room to Read's tremendous growth, a new HR role was added to allow the team to better serve the world-wide colleagues as well as the US based head office. I was focused on streamlining existing structures as well as helping the organization with the growing pains all successful businesses go through. This was my first direct experience working for a non-profit.

* Design and implement training programs for upper management English development * Interview new hires to determine English proficiency in line with position requirements * Coach and mentor executive management for cultural awareness and western HR practices * Edit HR presentations and documentation for UK office

* Recruitment and training of new staff * Development of training materials for clients to broaden their cultural awareness and western business practices * Team building and staff retention

* Group training sessions for staff traveling overseas or hosting foreign business partners * Coaching and mentoring executives on western business practices * Editing documentation and presentations

Coach and counsel corporate office as well as national branch and franchise managers regarding company policies and state/federal labor laws Conduct investigations and provide documentation for EEOC violations nationally Manage staff recognition, employee perks and employee satisfaction programs

Brought in during a transition period to ensure the HR needs continued to be met as well as provide consultation of the HR function shift.
