-To perform the Statutory roles of Corporate Officer, Management Information Services, and Council Secretariat. -To perform those statutory duties prescribed by provincial and municipal legislation. -To act as Deputy CAO in the absence of the CAO. -To attend meeting of Council and certain committees and public hearings; to ensure accurate recording of proceedings and prepare minutes; to advise Council members and Department heads as to legislation, resolutions and official decisions; disseminate such information and direction arising from decisions and enactments of Council. -To maintain and preserve the official documents and other records of the District in accordance with statutory requirements. -To prepare all necessary bylaws, notices and background information required by Provincial and Municipal legislation, Council and the Chief Administrative Officer. -To recommend to the Chief Administrative Officer the appointment, suspension, promotion and dismissal of staff in the Corporate Service Department. -To check, approve and sign contracts, leases, agreements, bylaws and other such documents; certify bylaws, resolutions, minutes and petitions. -To draft such leases, contracts and agreements as required. -To receive and process applications to vary land use. -To answer inquiries, process complaints and promulgate official announcements and advertisements relating to municipal matters as directed by Council and the Chief Administrative Officer. -To be responsible for dealing with land matters such as the registration of easements, road closures, crown leases and quarry leases. -To authorize purchases and be responsible for purchase orders and budget for general office expenses for the General Office Accounts. -In the absence of the CAO, to act as Deputy Approving Officer. -To fulfil the duties of Freedom of Information Officer. -To act as Chief Election Officer for all elections
