I received my Masters in Health Communication. I worked as a research assistant for the Director of the School of Communication, Dr. Linda Kean, on ground breaking eye-tracking research and as a teaching assistant for various undergraduate courses. I taught my own undergraduate public speaking course, Business and Professional Communication, where I was solely responsible for creating lesson plans, class activities, grading, etc,. This program allowed me to develop key knowledge and skills in order to evaluate the role of communication in health-related contexts. The program examines: communication issues in a health setting; how the media influences health decision making; the effects of organizational structures in health communication; the creation and dissemination of health information; and influences of culture on health communication.
