Experience

Research Scientist---Vaccine Development
Blacksburg, Virginia, United States
|Bioconjugation, Protein, LNPs, Vaccine, Biopolymer, OUD| I developed a new immunotherapy strategy for against opioid use disorders (OUD) by using biocompatible Lipid-Polymer Hybrid Nanoparticles and Protein-Hapten conjugations, as well as protein-drug delivery and immunotherapy for cancer and infectious diseases.

Project Scientist Ⅱ---Protein/Virus
San Diego, USA
| Bioconjugation, Protein, Virus Vectors, ADCs, Vaccine, Drug delivery, Imaging | My works were focused on the development of protein self-assembled Plant virus nanoparticles, Virus-like nanoparticles, and/or synthetic nanoparticles as high-efficiency delivery platforms for protein-antibody (PDC), antibody-drug (ADC), protein-protein conjugates, MRI, PET, Near-infrared Fluorescence, Photoacoustic pre-clinical imaging early stage precisely detection of human cancer, and therapeutic strategies such as vaccines, prodrug delivery, phototherapy, chemo-immune therapy of human cancer.

Research Scientist---Protein/Virus
Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area
| Bioconjugation, Virus Vectors, Protein, Vaccine, Drug delivery, Imaging | I have successfully developed a series of protein self-assembled viral-like nanoparticles for human cancer diagnosis and therapy. Protein-drug conjugates, protein-antibody conjugations.

Associate Professor---Nanomedicine
Shanghai City, China
| Bioconjugation, preclinical diagnosis, Biopolymer, Drug delivery, Silica nanomedicine, Fluorescence dye| I developed a serial of mesoporous, ultrasmall size, hollow structure silica and hollow poly(MAA-co-EGDMA) copolymer nanocapsules for multimodal imaging guided pH-responsive drug delivery systems for cancer therapy.

Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship Researcher---Nanomedicine
Turin Area, Italy
| Preclinical diagnosis, Silica nanomedicine, LNPs, Peptide, Bioconjugation | Design and testing of Gd3+-loaded ultrasmall hollow mesoporous silica nanosphere (<30 nm) platform as high sensitivity probes for targeted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of tumor in vivo. This project was supported by Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship within the 7th European Community Framework Programme (PIIF-GA-2011-298821).

Postdoc---Radiochemistry
Greater Los Angeles Area
| Radiochemistry, Peptides, Bioconjugation, PET, Fluorescence | During my first postdoctoral research project, my research focused on radiochemistry, PET/MRI. I developed lanthanide (Ln3+ = Eu3+, Dy3+)-doped GdVO4 ultrathin 2D tetragonal nanosheets with remarkable optical and paramagnetic properties. Based on the bright fluorescence, I designed the nanosheets as a sensitive Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) bioprobe, as well as modifying them with a DOTA chelator for radioactive 64Cu labeling, and with the Asp-Gly-Glu-Ala (DGEA) peptide to target integrin a2beta1, allowing the targeted imaging of prostate cancer cells by PET and MRI. I was also been trained for the cell culture and small animal model.

Assistant Professor---Nanomedicine
Shanghai City, China
| Nanomedicine, Magnetic NPs, Peptides, Preclinical diagnosis | During my independent career, I taught undergraduate students with General Chemistry, instructed 5 graduate students' research. My research turned to the development of superparamagnetic nanoparticles, mesoporous silica nanoparticles and hybrid nanocomposites for molecular imaging guided nano-therapy of human cancer. I have synthesized a series of superparamagnetic nanoparticles such as Fe3O4, MnFe2O4 and Mn3O4, and developed some versatile surface modification protocols, e.g. surface ligand exchange, ring-opening polymerization of epichlorohydrin, thermal decomposition of a phthalimide-protected precursors, and silica coating, to produce water-soluble and biocompatible targeting ligands as functionalized biomarkers for MRI applications.
