Carry out bulk production inspections and decide next steps if any quality issues are found during TOP inspections. Identify any differences from approved samples or quality defects and discuss corrective actions with suppliers, including rework or discounts if required. Work with the development team to improve product quality in future seasons and reduce repeat quality issues. Improve raw material quality by working closely with fabric and trim suppliers based on findings from TOP sample inspections. Developed seamless activewear fabrics at the conceptual stage, collaborating closely with the marketing team to understand customer needs and guide the garment development process. I reviewed customer tech packs, led brainstorming sessions, and selected or developed yarns for specific fabric functions, working with the yarn development team to bring them in-house. I chose appropriate machines based on previous style data and coordinated with various teams on garment components, dyeing, and finishing methods. Using Adobe Illustrator, SANTONI Photon, D3p SANTONI, and PULSAR, I designed fabrics adhering to customer specifications, adjusting during knitting trials to meet measurement requirements. I also reviewed fabric test results, conducted trials, identified root causes of failures, and implemented improvements, ensuring transparent communication with customers. Additionally, I led projects to address production issues and introduced key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance efficiency.

It was 5 days industry orientation program. Here I received experience and got idea about apparel manufacturing process.

For my Final Year Research Project, I conducted a study on the thermal insulation properties of various knitted textile-reinforced composites. During my internship at Naturub Exports International, I implemented strategies to reduce production damages and improve overall efficiency, while also proposing key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Procurement Department to enhance operational performance.

I passed my O/L exam with 8 A's and 1 B. I completed my A/L in the Physical Science stream, achieving 2 A's and 1 B. With these results, I qualified for the BSc Engineering program at the University of Moratuwa.
