Harish Srinivasan, obtained my PhD (cum laude) on January 2014 from the division of functional genome analysis, DKFZ, University of Heidelberg. much interested to continue my career in scientific research in industrial biology specifically in assay development, molecular diagnostics and applications technology. Also interested in proteomic studies on different cancer entities. I believe a combined analysis on different proteome would provide enough insight on the key players in carcinogenesis and disease progression as such. A protein or a family of proteins reported from such an analysis could be potential therapeutic targets. From an industry point of view, such a study will not only adapt industry to current biology but also would efficiently collaborate surgeons, molecular biologists and professionals.

Studied gene signatures in various stages of Glioma(Astrocytomas) using Real time PCR arrays for 176 genes and 96 apoptosis related genes in an array in real time . It’s a project in collaboration with clinicians and statisticians. I analyzed the expression pattern of more than 150 Astrocytomas by developing in house, a PCR array using cDNAs of 126 samples belonging to different grades of Glioma arranged as per the hierarchy of Grades. It is my own idea that will help to know the expression pattern of a gene across different grades of samples in a single PCR run.

I work in the assay development team primarily with a larger role in building kits for luminex platform. Apart from working on human cytokine panels (nearing launch), I was also a part of the recently launched neuro 3-plex panel. I am involved with identifying antibody pairs, optimizing them and validating them in multiplexed format which will eventually be transformed as a kit for customers. Apart from regular experiments with regards to multiplexing, I also perform several cell based treatment simulations for cytokines to be measured using these kits. My activities with Luminex instrumentation include regular calibration, cleanup and troubleshooting.
