Engineering Manager – COSMOS Platform (Big Data Infrastructure) Microsoft – Bing Division Managed a highly technical team focused on optimizing developer and customer experience on COSMOS, Microsoft’s exabyte-scale, distributed storage and compute platform powering Bing and many other web services. What is COSMOS? COSMOS is a massively parallel supercomputer made up of tens of thousands of commodity PCs, delivering petabyte-scale ingestion and exabyte-scale processing daily across Bing, AdCenter, MSN, Windows Live, and more. Software Engineer – Microsoft Office (Excel Team) Worked on key components of Microsoft Excel and served as the technical lead for performance and debugging. Played a significant role in the transformational Office 12 release. Key Contributions: • Led performance and debugging efforts across Excel, driving improvements in speed, reliability, and diagnostics. • Contributed to the major redesign of Office’s UI, transitioning from the traditional File > Menu structure to the modern Ribbon UI. • Helped architect and implement Excel’s multi-threaded recalculation engine to improve computational performance. • Played a central role in building the Page Layout View, introducing a more print-accurate editing experience. • Participated in Excel’s data model expansion—from 65,536 to over 1 million rows, and from 256 to over 16,000 columns—enabling high-scale data analysis. It was a landmark release that transformed how billions of users—from Wall Street professionals to everyday users like my grandmother—experienced Excel. It was a tremendous learning opportunity to see what it takes to ship software at global scale.

Software Engineer – MSN Explorer Browser Team Worked on the development and release of MSN 8, MSN 8.5, and MSN 9.0 browsers. Key Contributions: • Led the development of APIs for the local database supporting Calendar and Email features within the MSN client. • Owned several core features, including Calendar, Email, Printing, Help, and Quality of Service (QoS). • Spearheaded performance improvements for the browser; led a virtual team of experienced software engineers in automating performance testing, building tools, providing ongoing training, and implementing diverse testing methodologies.

Summer Intern – Web Developer GE Medical Systems. Worked with the GE Healthcare and Financial Services team as a Web Developer, contributing to internal tools and web applications. Got the highest Performance rating during my internship. Received two full-time job offers from GE during the course of my internship.

During my undergraduate studies, I also worked part-time as a Technical Instructor at a CADD institute. I focused on the optimization of structures using Finite Element Method (FEM) techniques, AutoCAD tools, and AutoLISP programming. In this role, I taught undergraduate students and design professionals, and managed projects involving structural optimization and finite element analysis.
