As a Retail Store Manager at Ellingsen, the largest outdoor store in Iceland, I oversee the daily operations, purchasing, staffing, and budgeting of the clothing and equipment department. With over 2.5 years of experience in this role, I have developed a deep understanding of operational management, procurement processes, and how to create a profitable business model. I collaborate with other managers and departments in the Ellingsen stores and marketing division, and I value the importance of cross-functional teamwork for achieving success. Prior to joining Ellingsen, I was the CEO of Landsmót hestamanna, the largest sports event in Iceland, where I gained skills in event management, recruitment, budget responsibility, and marketing. I learned the value of working in a team, leading projects, and making data-driven and analytical decisions to achieve objectives. This experience has given me a holistic perspective on finance and business operations. In addition, my time as a Parish Priest enhanced my interpersonal skills, my ability to build good relationships, and my understanding of a comprehensive approach to responsibility. I believe that my experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with different people and groups.
