Key leadership role in development of Veritas Genetics clinical bioinformatics pipelines • Develop and validate bioinformatics pipelines for whole genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing and panel assays in compliance with CAP/CLIA regulations • Integrate various private and publicly available genomic annotations from databases such as gnomad, ClinVar, OMIM, HGMD, etc. into company database • Work closely with Scientists and laboratory staff to design QC metrics and filtering criteria for various clinical grade assays (e.g. WES rare disease, WES tumor) • Provide integrative analysis of genetic data and clinical data to understand genetic risk, disease mechanisms, and drug response • Provide direction, planning and application development to junior staff Responsible for the business development of carrier test • Work with product development teams to ensure that the technology stack and analytics capabilities adequately support product development requirements • Produce market research, interact with physicians and key opinion leaders to align interests • Track and analyze the current environment and road-mapping into the future competitive environment • Develop and maintain collaborations both within the company and with outside researchers in academia and industry
