Pan-Asian Lunar New Year festival, featuring the diverse customs of: Vietnam, South Korea, China, Thailand, Japan, and the Philippines. This festival is designed to be a true reflection of our identity as Asian Americans, updating how the Lunar New Year is celebrated to reflect the broad contributions of Asians to America. It is held annually in Decatur, Georgia and is entirely run by volunteers.

Chair, Aug 2021 to July 2023 Vice Chair, Aug 2019 to July 2021 Global Village Project is the only school in the United States designed to meet the unique needs of refugee girls and young women with interrupted education. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization accredited as a special purpose middle school, serving refugee students from Clarkston, Georgia - one of the most diverse cities in the nation. Our innovative program was first imagined in 2009, in response to the fact that many teenage refugee girls need more intensive and individualized support than their siblings. These young women are placed in middle and high schools when they are resettled, even though many of them arrive in the U.S. with Pre-K to 2nd grade skills in math and reading. In order to succeed academically and socially in their new home, refugee young women need a space designed specifically for their needs as older newcomers. With an educational approach that focuses on our students’ strengths and resources, Global Village Project supports them in becoming highly successful students and empowered citizens. Our alumnae are staying in school, graduating, and going to college. Nearly 20 GVP graduates are now enrolled in Atlanta-area colleges and universities, including Berry College, Agnes Scott College, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech.

Hotshot is a startup that is bringing digital learning to lawyers. Hotshot creates short, practical videos and related resources to teach legal and business skills to lawyers. We help firms deliver modern, effective training in an affordable and scalable way. Our subscribers include some of the largest law firms in the US, and we were recently named most innovative legal ed company at Above the Law’s inaugural innovation competition. My role is head of the tactical and strategic operations covering product, tech, video production, sales operations, marketing, finance, people, and legal. I am a core member of team and take a “hands on” approach to our business. Having started as a contractor, I have done nearly every job in the company, which has helped me do my job effectively and efficiently.

Genius Atlanta is a volunteer-led, locally-based organization that is based on House of Genius, a global platform for local communities to help businesses (especially entrepreneurs) overcome challenges that they are facing. We host a monthly event that brings together two entrepreneurs to present a key strategic challenge they are facing to a diverse mix of Genius Panelists. The Panelists are asked to offer feedback, ideas and connections in a fast-paced discussion format to help our entrepreneurs get unstuck and advance their business. What makes Genius Atlanta unique is that everyone keeps what they do and who they are hidden until the end of the night. We believe that removing what we do and titles we hold creates an opportunity for better connection and community. And at the end of the night, we all share our backgrounds (and a fun fact!) during our Big Reveal which has featured everything from opera singers to serial entrepreneurs to bomb-diffusing event planners.

Set up and ran fundraising department for the state-wide campaign of Lindy Miller, who ran for Public Service Commissioner in Atlanta, Georgia. Lindy surpassed her goal of raising $1M for this race.

Thomson Reuters is a large multi-national company that is the industry leader in providing news and information products to several professional verticals, including Legal. Over the course of a decade, my career advanced along two paths at Thomson Reuters. In the field, became a leader in the management of the largest law firm accounts in NY and the Southeast for the flagship Westlaw product and other legal products. In addition to exceeding my goals, I piloted new programming with my law firm accounts, building stronger relationships for the company. I, then, transferred my experience in-house, using my customer knowledge to help shape business strategy, reaching the level of Director of growth strategies for the large law firm segment. My roles in-house allowed me to gain new experience in acquisitions, product management, and program management. Notably, I was chief of staff to the VP of large law, managing operations across 7 businesses. I was also named an Innovation Catalyst and worked on several projects for the company’s innovation initiative.

Established new institute. Researched and analyzed policy issues affecting higher education. Designed and co-taught course on leadership, planned symposia, and maintained contact databases.
