* Working as a site engineer and standing in for all foremen when they are on their 2 week leave every 2 months, managing their teams. * Monitoring progress and production of the works on a daily basis by implementing production charts. * Monitoring daily and weekly costing and reporting back to the foremen and at the weekly and monthly costing meetings. * Managing the Quality Assurance and progress update. Drawing up process maps to monitor the progress of approvals etc. * Liaising with the materials engineer and laboratory manager to get the test results approved and signed off. * Managing the layer works and surfacing teams. * Procure the materials for the asphalt plant. * Redesign the asphalt due to different types of stone that needed to be used. * Liaising with the local community regarding access to their land and borrow pits.

Manage the quality control of the site. Requesting inspections and tests as per the specification. Process results of the tests and verifying the site engineer to sign off for payment. - Line managed the surfacing team. Order the materials such as bitumen, stone etc. for this operation. Making sure that the site doesn’t run out of stock. - Monitoring daily and weekly costing and assisting the production manager with programming the works.

* Standing in for all foremen when they are on their 2 week leave every 2 months, managing their working teams such as earthworks and especially drainage structures such as pipe culverts, gabions etc.. * Assisting the Site Engineers and Site Agent in Programming and Costing of the works. Compiling all the necessary paperwork for it. * Assisting in the soil laboratory and surveying. * Controlling the supply and offloading of cement to the cement stores controlling the stock. * Delivering the cement to site in time for stabilisation.

* Recording daily and weekly costing to determine profits or losses for all work fronts on site: storm water drainage, earthworks, layer works, road surfacing, line marking and rehabilitation. * Managing subcontractors by the use of programs, costing, production and quality control. Holding weekly meetings to discuss weekly progress and costing. Signing off monthly payment certificates. * Liaising with the Engineering on a daily basis in terms of the quality, design and attending client and progress meetings. * Monitoring the quality control, making sure that all the works comply to the specifications. * Follow up on laboratory results with the soil laboratory manager. * De-establish site and offices and handing over and signing off of borrow pits and land to the landowners. * Liaising with farmers and local municipality regarding the works on their property
