During my role in this women's prison I supervised offenders sentenced to Indeterminate Sentences for Public Protection (ISPP) and Life Sentences. I also managed Persistent and Prolific Offenders (PPOs). My main tasks were to support these offenders through their sentence plans and liaise with probation and other outside agencies with regards to their resettlement back into the community. This included liaising and sharing information with agencies such as Children's Services, housing providers, drug and alcohol services and mental health services. In addition I prepared Parole Reports, attended MAPPA and Child Protection meetings, completed Home Detention Curfew assessments, Mother and Baby Risk Assessments and Oasys risk assessments.

I prepared and delivered Accredited Offender Behaviour Programmes, such as Enhanced Thinking Skills, Drink Impaired Drivers,Offender Substance Misuse programme and the One to One Programme. I was involved in assessing offenders who were referred to programmes to ensure they were fully prepared and dealt with any issues that could prevent successful completion. I also completed progress reports on each offender and attended 3 way meetings with Offender Managers. After approximately 3 years I moved on to a case management role where I supervised offenders sentenced to Community Orders and those released on licence. I developed sentence plans, gathered information to complete risk assessments and prepared supervision sessions for offenders. I liaised with outside agencies to disseminate and gather necessary information for risk assessments. I enforced Community Orders by breaching in a timely manner and recalling an offender to prison if necessary. I was also responsible for completing Home Detention Curfew Assessments and advising magistrates on suitable sentences in court.

I currently work in the Offender Rehabilitation Team based in Guildford, Surrey and manage case-load of offenders subject to Supervision, Programme, Drug or Alcohol Requirements, and those released on licence. I am responsible for helping offenders getting their lives back on track, enforcing attendance and completing Risk Assessments, Home Detention Curfews. I liaise with the police, mental health advocates, substance misuse team, housing associations and charities on a regular basis in order to aid offenders recovery.
