About

Haluk Sayar was born in Istanbul and graduated from Yildiz Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After completing his undergraduate studies, he continued his education at the University of Maryland in the United States. Throughout his professional career, which began in 1993 as a project engineer at Primagas, he has been at the forefront of the green transformation of the energy, building, and mobility sectors. He played a key role in the development, management, implementation, and/or consultancy of numerous national and international projects in the field of green transformation, including EU Horizon, GEF, UNDP, AFD, and others. In 1999, he founded AES Alternative Energy Systems Ltd and later sold it to Ecofys, a Netherlands-based company, where he served as the Turkey country manager until 2013. From 2013 to 2019, he held the position of Turkey country manager at KWA Contracting AG, a Germany-based company. Since then, he has been working as an independent consultant. Since 2002, he has also established and served in executive positions for several leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the industry, some of which he continues to be involved with. These include; as Turkey - EUROSOLAR | The European Association for Renewable Energy , Turkish Green Building Council - Cedbik ,TRAEE | The Turkish Association for Energy Economics. AVERE Turkiye e-mobility association.

Energy audit for 12 Hotels with size of around 1,000 bed capacity in Antalya region (BETUYAP) Feasibility of PV Production Plant in Turkey for Albakom AS. 55 kWp Photovoltaic system design and implementation to the roof of newly constructed laboratory building at METU (ODTÜ Electric Electronic Engineering.) Over 10 renewable energy power plants' project design document was prepared for developing carbon credits. The developed project design documents have been validated and registered to the Gold Standard as a Voluntary Emission Reduction (VERs) project. In total, 2 million tons of CO2 equal carbon credits were developed. Most of the project types are the first validated and verified VER projects in Turkey.
