Amazon provides safety interns with a 10-week field based project assignment at a North America Amazon fulfillment operation. Safety interns worked directly with site Workplace Safety and Health and central support teams in a pre-identified project that supports current year workplace safety goals for the business. The project cycle included training in OSHA10, First Aid, CPR and AED, project management, technical writing, and other safety related competencies. Learned about and worked with other functional teams (Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, and others). The Amazon intern program requires significant use of collaborative IT work platforms. Served as project manager including data collection and analysis, piloting of proposed solutions, selection of project outcomes and preparation of a final written project summary; called White Papers at Amazon The White Papers at Amazon. The White Paper was presented to leaders at Amazon for their review and feedback.
