I worked as an Intern for Magna Cartop Systems in Auburn Hills, MI as their Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern. While working at this job, I participated in many trainings including DOT and OSHA trainings. I also lead a few trainings during my time there including spill drills, fire drills, and new employee safety orientation. I assisted MCTS in their annual health, safety, and environmental audits which allowed me to understand EPA guidelines, write and prepare procedures and reports, and explain the results of a water testing that was done on site. I also completed weekly and monthly safety inspections of the sites and gave suggestions to fix any problems.

Every year since 2008 when the Clarkston Farmers Market opened, my family has opened a stand and sold produce every Saturday from July to October. Be get out produce from Vanhootie Farm in Romeo, MI where my Grandpa is the manager. While here, I am in charge of setting up the stand, organizing and restocking product, being cashier, and informing customers about our products.

This internship was done during my senior year of high school and lasted for half of the spring semester. During my time in this internship, I learned about each and every position in the office, including receptionist, accountant, x-ray tech, and doctor. I was able to shadow doctors and see how appointments worked, I was able to give sample x-rays, I entered in new patient information, and organized information for the accountant.

This internship has been the most beneficial to me thus far. Here, my major job was to audit customer accounts and ensure that they are being billed the correct amount each month. I created an entire system to make this possible and organized all of the information I found both on paper and digitally. I found some major pieces of information while doing this that greatly impacted the company and brought much more revenue. Along with this work, I also utilized a website called ZipRecruiter to make the screening process much easier for the company. In the end, I had an effective pipeline of potential candidates for the company to choose from, organized by rating and labelled skills. My final project here was creating a paper recycling program for the office. I set up bins around the office, found a way to get the paper to the recycling plant, and encouraged other employees to use the bins. While I did not have enough time to completely develop the program, it was still beneficial.

I worked at OfficeMax from October of 2013 until the store I worked at was closed in the following April. While working here, I was a cashier, I restocked items, and assisted customers in locating items.
