Development of electrochemical biosensors for point of care blood analysis (ISO 13485 certified environment). Responsible for in-house quality testing of transducer devices and developmental research project on reference electrode technology. Testing involved sensor preparation (mounting, clean room wire bonding and soldering), electrochemical diagnostics, microscopy and wet chemistry. • Analysis and reporting of experimental results • Writing of SOPs and WIs in line with quality management system

• Freelance copy editing of scientific peer-reviewed papers for publication (English language journals specialising in Marine Ecology and Climate Change) o Identified scientific / linguistic inaccuracies and corrected where appropriate o Required a high attention to detail to ensure that formatting and layout were consistent with detailed in-house style guidelines

Development and testing of novel membrane electrode assemblies and stacks for methanol and hydrogen fuel cells using customised test stations (both acid and alkaline chemistries). Running electrochemical diagnostic test routines to analyse fuel cell components, from flow field plates to membrane and catalyst materials. Creation of novel test solutions for anionic polymer exchange fuel cells. Worked on condenser characterisation and system integration for novel portable DMFC system. Laboratory steward responsible for developing and writing test SOPs, WIs and test schedules; also responsible for COSHH assessment, test rig calibration and construction. Responsible for data analysis and reporting to all levels within the business from technical staff to board level. Electromechanical assembly, testing and calibration of Optima circulator/heaters and QB block heating devices (circuit boards, mechanical assemblies).
