Shirley has over 8 years of extensive experience advising clients on corporate governance, restructuring, mergers and acquisition, venture capital/private equity investment (with a focus on technology, media and telecommunication (TMT)), joint venture and strategic alliances, and regulatory advice in various industries (including but not limited to manufacturing, energy and industrials, life science and health care, technology and telecoms, cloud computing, medical and pharmacy, cybersecurity and data privacy, banking and financial institutions, fintech, digital currency, automotive, employment and education). She also works with wider Hogan Lovells team in Hong Kong, Singapore, US, UK and EU on regulatory advice, PE/VC transactions, M&A, global restructuring, joint venture, export control, FCPA, data protection, IP enforcement and anti-money laundering (AML). Her key responsibilities at law firm are to (i) identify issues and potential violation/misalignment with laws, standards etc. in different industries; (ii) advise strategic solutions, rectification and preventive measures and internal procedures; and (iii) communicate the key findings/issues aforesaid solutions and measures with shareholders, management team, founder, investors, acquirers etc. via emails/conference call/presentations) to ensure the good understanding, smooth implementation and conclusion of legal documents. She has also successfully managed complex projects through their life cycles – from request for proposal (RFP) to emails/reports/memos/contracts drafting/negotiations and through to project implementation (including communication with shareholders of large-cap company and other involved parties). Having been closely working with stakeholders, senior management team (including board of directors, senior managers and presidents), legal and business team of multi-national companies and domestic companies, she understands challenges from each party’s perspective.
