Designed and developed all embedded and application software for the Local Area Network (LAN) of the ICON 1000 Distributed Control System . This effort included protocol design, network management layer, real time database and operating system network loader. The product received an innovation award by Control Engineering Magazine upon its introduction to the market. Gained extensive experience with assembly language, C, systems integration, hardware emulators, and software debuggers, ISO/OSI Layered Network Model and IEEE802.2/3/4 standards.

Acted both as CTO and VP of Engineering for this provider of healthcare data analytic services. Responsible for the technical vision of the company as well as the operational aspects of the technology team; including budgeting, infrastructure, project/program and vendor management. Recruited and managed a high-performance team of full-time engineers, contract employees, and offshore development team. Selected Accomplishments: ★ Reorganized IT organization to be better aligned with business objectives. ★ Led the migration of a complex data analytics SaaS legacy application used to process terabytes of health care data. A project that previous leaders had been unsuccessful in accomplishing. Migrated thousands of institutional subscribers and their end users to the new platform in time to meet new government regulations. ★ Introduced Agile methodologies across the company ★ Implemented DevOps Best Practices ★ Migrated all company mission critical systems to a data center ★ Helped formalize internal business processes

Administrative, budgetary and project responsibilities for a team of engineers and a suite of G2 connectivity solutions spanning multiple execution platforms. The Systems Engineering Manager position included support to the sales and marketing organizations as well as an engineering advisory role to customers, the Consulting Services Group and overall company product strategy. Streamlined the operation of the group by implementing new product request and development guidelines, strict version control and automatic testing procedures. Gained extensive experience with systems architecture, databases, control and SCADA systems as well as office automation and middleware products.

Designed and developed embedded software for remote metering and load shedding for the power utilities industry and x-ray inspection systems for the security industry. Principal project completed: CARGOSCAN - (US Air Force). Software architect and technical software manager for the "TOSI" X-ray Inspection System, which began operation in 1990, scanning missiles in railroad cars in Votkinsk, Russia, to confirm Soviet compliance with the INF (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces). AS&E was awarded a commendation from the US Air Force for their on-time participation on this project.

Consulting engagement manager in the e-Infrastructure Planning group of Gensym Corporation. Responsible for managing consulting engagements and business development support for Gensym’s business process (ReThink) and supply chain modeling (eSCOR) tools. Selected Accomplishments: ★ Created manufacturing supply-chain simulations for the semiconductor and poultry industries. ★ Integrated hospital and clinical information systems to resolve registration and Medicare compliance issues. ★ Designed a graphical framework used to develop an advanced shipping notice system for the U.S. Transportation Command. ★ Conceptualized and developed a rule-based expert system infrastructure for classifying and retrieving domain-specific knowledge from a variety of sources.

I established this company to branch out and provide consulting services. My initial purpose was to provide Systems Integration and Software Development services to startups and other companies that needed help implementing new systems. Over time we also started providing other services to help assess needs and leadership to efficiently affect change in their existing processes and technologies. So far, we have delivered exciting mission-critical projects that have had a direct impact on our customer’s bottom line. Along the way, I also established an offshore software development branch in Brazil and contracted our services to companies in Central, and North America as well as Europe. Though passionate about learning new technologies and how they improve our lives, we always have had a pragmatic approach when providing solutions to our customers. Our projects have encompassed the healthcare, financial, manufacturing, telecommunications, and utilities industries.
