Pharmaceutical Packaging Plant Startup Lead in China: Responsible for leadership of the China manufacturing organization activities related to the design, construction, commissioning, and start up of new site. Accountable for providing “final customer” deliverables (e.g. user requirements endorsement, design decisions) to engineering groups during design and construction. Accountable for transferring the subsystems of the facility (Transfer Of Custody) to local ownership after the Commissioning and Qualification phase (C&Q). Accountable for organizing and leading the ramp-up of the new facility to full commercial production.

Responsible for standardizing manufacturing practices in the secondary packaging area and in the medical devices packaging area (directly management of 4 technicians). Accountable for monitoring production metrics (OEE, Quality, Backlog, etc…), identifying important trends, and communicating to both shop floor personnel and site management.;

Accountable for filling and freeze drying aseptic production (Dispensing, Formulation, Filling and Freeze Drying) ~35 collaborators. Direct management of production shift supervisors and indirect management of process team members (process Engineers, Science and Technology, Maintenance etc ...).

* Accountable for both project management (from ‘’site acceptance (SAT)’’ to commercialization) and direct production team management * This included direct and indirect management of 25 people (project, mechanical, vision system and validation engineers, operators and contractors) * Led Multicultural project with US (plastic parts manufacturer), Switzerland (assembly machine supplier) and Germany (packaging line supplier) * Served as Line manager and continuous improvement sponsor until formal handover to a new organization.

Managed 13 people (project, vision system and validation engineers) to implement modifications and sustain 10 assembly and packaging lines; Accountable for driving continuous improvements in order to reduce deviations, upgrade GMP compliance and for Lean 6-Sigma green belt projects implementation.

Provided technical support for 4 assembly lines, each producing disposable medical devices. Local contact for Lilly Indianapolis Engineering Office for feasibility studies for proposed upgrades to device/assembly line.

Responsible for technical investigation on 3 kinds of medical devices (Insulin and HGH) to address issues that were leading to patient complaints. Responsible for working with Lilly US affiliate to transfer investigation methods and to share training which we had developed.

Accountable for filling, pasteurization, viral inactivation and freeze drying operations of human protein products.

Direct management of 5 people accountable for training, development, and qualification of >350 collaborators. Responsible for assisting managers/supervisors with the creation of development plans for their collaborators. Coached them to develop action-oriented objectives and value-oriented measures; Took role of Site Transformation Deputy for my Packaging operation area. In this role, drove implementation of site restructuring and transformation initiatives.
