I am the Senior Product Service Specialist - HVAC. I train and support the Unitary, Ductless and VRF equipment.

I train and support the VRF, VRV, Mini-Split, Multi-Split, Ductless, heat pump, air handler, gas furnace, unitary products both in the residential and commercial applications. I have been conferred 3 training and service awards and 1 leadership award from JCI/ Coleman. I have extensive expertise in all areas in the HVAC industry. I am a certified trainer for Daikin, teaching their residential mini split and multi split systems, their commercial VRV lines as well as their Altherma product. Originally, I was only one of two external trainers in North America that Fujitsu allowed to do in-house training on their residential ductless products. With the initial success of this program, Fujitsu opened their training curriculum and certified labs to other distributers. I am a certified trainer for Coleman and Hitachi, both unitary and VRF equipment. I am a member of JCI’s Service Advisory Council. I have earned many certifications from factories such as Daikin, Fujitsu, York/ Coleman/ Hitachi, Goodman, Trane, Carrier, WaterFurnace, LG ductless, Friedrich ductless, HeatLink and more as I am continually updating my technical and teaching skills. My current duties are field/ phone support, including technical troubleshooting, fire off assistance, technical and sales training for a variety of people from contractors, technicians, installers, sales personnel, Johnstone Supply employees, etc. When training, I often create my own training materials using the Articulate 360, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe CS6 and other software. I also use other technology such as Teams or Zoom, texting, emails, software/ hardware integration for controls boards and similar items that are very common in my job. My responsibilities include the normal forms and paperwork such as weekly expense accounts, warranty, commissioning reports and the like. With 35 plus years in the HVAC industry, with the last 14 plus years as a technical service advisor and trainer.

I was responsible for both the office and field work and their related duties. This includes all aspects of scheduling, ordering, inventory, troubleshooting, repair, installing, and maintenance of HVAC residential and commercial systems. Office and field work encompasses contractors, public and government, construction meetings, submitting OEMs and asbuilt manuals, creating and giving seminars and instruction, and related work. Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance work on HVAC systems as well as train new employees to do likewise. Responsible for ordering and installing, gas and refrigerant piping, ductless/ VRF systems, gas furnaces and boilers, gas and electric hot water tanks, electric furnaces, heat pumps, air conditioners, pool dehumidifiers, and like equipment. Duties include keeping the company’s fleet of vehicles running, ordering parts, keeping inventory, billing customers and other related paperwork.

Performed customer relations and business operations duties including sales, contracts, and related paperwork. Worked in both commercial and residential settings on all brands/ styles of HVAC/R systems.

I graduated High School in 1982, so I was still in school working part time until summer of 1982 and then move to full time.
