Graig Weiss

Responsible for establishing and implementing the vision as well as managing the daily operations ($16M annual budget & 140 staff members) of Foundation Academies - a “Tier 1” public charter school that has grown to serve 1,092 students from kindergarten through to 12th grade. Foundation Academies is ranked in the 92nd percentile by the NJDOE amongst all public schools in New Jersey and is the 4th highest ranked charter school in New Jersey based on the most recent rankings. I have ensured that FA is the highest performing school in Trenton for each of the past twelve years. I have been able to scale the enrollment of the school from 200 students in 2009 to nearly 1,100 students in 2020. Ensured that 100% of the high school graduates gain admission to 4-year colleges/universities for all of the school’s first eight graduating classes (~350 graduates) and ensured 12 years of perfect audits with no recommendations and a cash balance of $6.2M in general funds; built the 501c3, The Friends of FA, Inc. into a multi-million dollar support organization. I was also able to secure financing and oversaw the development of state-of-the-art school facilities, at less than 6% of the annual operating budget.

Was responsible for the development, operations, and performance of three schools (K-8) serving more than 750 students. Oversaw the improvement of new school facilities and developed the school’s curriculum and formative assessments. Managed the school budgets and created innovative and rigorous staff evaluation tools. Recruited, managed, and coached staff members, and developed and mentored internal leaders to facilitate expansion.

Provided leadership and final authority within the school on top of executing curriculum planning. Oversaw the performance of teachers and staff members as well as made decisions regarding departments and funding. Built a common vision for school improvement with staff and directed planning activities and put programs in place with staff to ensure the attainment of the school’s mission.

Was responsible for implementing the vision of and the daily operations for 4th to 11th grades at a private, English-immersion school in the Dominican Republic. Recruited, supervised, and supported 25 staff members while ensuring compliance with the Dominican Republic Secretary of Education’s laws and regulations.

Responsible for ensuring the learning of a variety of subjects including Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies to middle school and high school students.

Responsible for working with managing directors to provide consulting services to non-profit organizations, university endowments, and high net-worth families. Conducted financial analysis and research. Monitored investment performance of client portfolios. Prepared reports and presentations for clients with between $75 million and $26 billion in assets. Presented results and research at client investment committee meetings.
