Graeme Lawrie MBA MBE FRSA FCCT

I am a senior education leader and partnerships professional with a diverse background spanning technology, education, and innovation.I began my career as a teacher and house parent at Oakham School, quickly progressing to Head of Department before expanding my expertise into mountain leadership and climbing instruction. In 2009, I became Head of Science at Sevenoaks School, leading multiple departments for nine years alongside roles as Director of Innovation and Outreach.Throughout my career, I have focused on building meaningful partnerships and leveraging technology to transform educational experiences. In 2011, I organised the first live video conversation between UK schools and the International Space Station, which led to my role as NASA’s Teaching from Space liaison in 2012 and 2013. I have also collaborated with organisations such as Blue Peter to create inspiring, real-world learning opportunities for students.In 2015, I was seconded to Buckingham Palace as a Special Advisor on education, contributing to the development of www.idea.org.uk, now used in two thirds of UK schools and globally, with over 15 million accreditation badges awarded.Since 2019, I have been part of ACS International Schools, initially as Partnerships Director, leading large scale collaboration and public benefit initiatives across campuses in Cobham, Egham, Hillingdon and Doha. In 2026, I stepped into the role of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing key operational areas including HR, IT, Marketing, Partnerships and Compliance. My focus is on aligning people, systems and strategy to deliver sustainable growth, strengthen culture and ensure outstanding outcomes for students.I am passionate about creating opportunities at scale, particularly for those who might otherwise lack access, and I have led programmes that have delivered millions of hours of impact for young people and teachers globally.Outside of my professional work, I run a YouTube channel, TechMoto.bike, and enjoy motorcycle racing both on track and off road. I have a strong interest in emerging technologies, regularly developing my skills across programming, electronics and design to stay ahead of future trends and their implications for education.As an autistic adult, I bring strengths in pattern recognition, focus and systems thinking. I see neurodiversity as a powerful driver of creativity and innovation, both in education and leadership.I am always open to conversations and collaborations that aim to push education forward, create meaningful partnerships and expand opportunity for all.
