Main Responsibilities o Develop, implement Design & Development strategy and plans including resource management, time scale to support, contribute and integrate within the organizations business plan and long term strategy o Overall in-charge of department activities. o Managing a group if 15 Mechanical Design Engineers on design and project management activities. o Taking the role of Design Lead for all projects thus overseeing the design improvement activities from development to mass production. o Frequent travelling (business trips) to customer’s facility for engineering discussion. o Submission of progress reports to Management periodically o Monthly presentation on department status and improvement activites. Costing o Manage overall departmental budget for projects and general expenditure. o Cost analysis preparation for new project inquiry. o Monthly Working Group budget planning submission for departmental requirements. o Member of the weekly project costing improvement team to scrutinize and analysis cost impact to further reduce development and manufacturing cost. Project Manager o Monitor overall project activity managed by the project engineers. o Conduct daily and weekly project meetings to monitor progress status. o Guide the engineers to manage projects based on TS16949 standards. o DFMEA/CTQ/PPAP/APQP to be updated weekly for internal and customer verification. o Sony Ericsson HVQP(High Volume Quality Planning) documentation preparation monitoring. Design o Involved in Technical Design Review at all levels. o Monitor Design Review at various stages of the development to understand product behavior and technical constraints. o Manage activities of CAD and CAE team for product design feedback to customer. o DPR(Design Producibility Review) feedback to customer for all new development projects. o Transfer of new product design technology from Technical and R&D centre in Japan
