Monitor adherence to all health/safety regulations at the construction site. Assist in the Recruitment, training, and supervision of a fire department team of up to 40 firefighters and first responders. Assist/ Command of fire/rescue situations including structural fires, vehicle extrication, and hazardous material incidents to ensure safety of team and general public. Conduct post-incident debriefings and develop training strategies designed to improve service delivery. Monitor maintenance/condition of emergency equipment/ vehicles and assist with purchases and specifications of fire equipment and apparatus. Educate the public in fire prevention, enforce fire codes/regulations, maintain department reports, assist with budget, fundraising, and public relations activities.

Investigated sudden unexpected deaths in complex circumstances to determine cause and time of death; submitted timely reports to Chief Coroner via the Judgment of Inquiry. Coordinated with various agencies including police, fire, ambulance services, and the medical community; engaged specialists such as forensic scientists, pathologists, toxicologists, anthropologists, and odontologists to help determine time and cause of death.

Coordinated and managed daily functions of a newly formed professional organization representing 200+ Physician Assistants across Canada. Planned and organized regional conferences and delivered presentations to public/private institutions to promote the profession and the organization. Effectively managed an annual budget and developed strategies to reduced costs and improve operational and corporate management systems. Attended annual general meetings of Board of Directors and participated in briefings with the Director General of Health Services and the Surgeon General of the Canadian Forces Medical Services Branch at Ottawa.

Contracted under the Ministry for Children and Families to provide and operate a six-bed Emergency Receiving Home for children from newborn to age 19. Administered an annual operating budget for all residential, community and home-based day programs for at-risk youth. Created a Parent-Teen Mediation Program and developed a program for teens not attending school. Evaluated existing programs; streamlined and developed processes to reduce costs and facilitate greater efficiency, teamwork and program effectiveness. Expanded operation in 1998 to add a second home with appropriate staff.

We also create art pieces when we are inspired and we love to use salvage materials when possible. Upcycle is one of our passions. We will work collaberatively if you like to be hands on and we are very willing to work on the components for your project as well as the complete creation.
