About
I am an experienced technical and program leader with a proven track record in software and system architecture and design. The programs I am involved with use a variety of delivery strategies from traditional processes such a as functional requirements analysis, validation and development through to more modern agile methods where appropriate. I have extensive extensive experience in all aspects of Geospatial application use and development and am a strong supporter and user of OGC Geospatial standards in my work. Recently this has extended to the development of guidelines for Earth Observation data and implementing processing systems. I also have a good working knowledge of Remote Sensing science and related technology. In addition to these geospatial activities, I also participate in Industry development programs through related professional organisations. I have worked in a variety of industries and technology fields including software product development, engineering simulation, Defence geospatial solutions, high performance computing and as a technology lead for many research and development programs. I have been fortunate in my career to be able to take several concept and ideas for products and develop them to commercial quality applications and results. In addition to my professional programming career I also enjoy developing analysis for strategic direction setting and assessing new and exciting technologies. My professional goals are to - create relevant useful software applications. - work in creative teams to meet new challenges. - work closely with clients to achieve the best possible outcomes. - engage in hi-tech science and technology projects. I am supported in my work by my personal values: respect for others, getting the right outcomes for clients and partners and extending my knowledge and learning to new fields. My current interests include android programming, natural language processing and Quantum Computing.
