Mission for Vision is a non-profit organisation set up to restore the gift of vision to every visually impaired human being, irrespective of nationality, religion or socio-economic status. They plan to do this by establishing a partnership eye hospital in every state of India providing free high quality eye care to the rural poor.

Demonstrated success in the social development sector, especially in project management, policy-making, strategizing and training/development of teams. Skilled as an internal consultant, interacting with senior directors and board members, analysing existing operations and implementing the strategies and processes to improve productivity and efficiency. Expert in building effective teams to support the organization’s operations and objectives.

* Part of the four member executive committee * Supervised all Administrative, Financial and Accounting, Legal Affairs, Media and IT departments. * Dual reporting to CEO, HOPE foundation, India as well as CFO, HOPE worldwide, USA. * Additional responsibilities include overseeing Asharan Orphanage and programs in Delhi. * Supervised the successful registration and development of HOPE’s entity in Bangladesh. * Extensive fund-raising experience from religious organizations in the UK and US to tune of around US$200,000 per annum.

* Successfully led the Financial, Administrative and Legal Affairs of HOPE’s British Commonwealth Sector for five worldwide regions (UK, Australia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Pacific) and 12 nations within the regions. * Effectively met the challenge of managing all cash flows and program fund allocations in eight different currencies. * Prepared and managed annual budgets for each Commonwealth regional entity. * Ensured high quality standards for internal financial processes and audits. * Submitted regional financial statements and coordinated with external auditors. * Maintained financial accounts and accounting standards for all of the regions. * Posted in Singapore for an 18 month project to establish HOPE worldwide entities in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. * Balanced reporting relationships with the Vice President, British Commonwealth Sector and the Chief Financial Officer, HOPE worldwide, Ltd.

 Built and designed the administrative apparatus of the organisation. This included creating positions, work profiles, recruiting competent and qualified people and setting goals for the year. It also involved having a hands-on approach to tasks as simple as designing the expense voucher which is still being used till date!  Led the efforts of the organisation to receive its FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) permit, which allowed donations to be received from foreign sources. This process was tedious and long drawn, but maintained focus and with extreme diligence, patience, and strong communication skill was able to achieve the goal.  In October 1996 (5 years after HOPE was registered), we were awarded the much coveted FCRA certificate – blanket approval to receive foreign funds! There was much celebration. Many efforts to get this FCRA were made before I joined HOPE but had failed.  Instrumental in streamlining the functioning of the Board.

* Bangalore Church of Christ is a branch organization of the International Churches of Christ committed to spreading the message of the Bible. * Responsible for financial accounts, including all audits. * Led development of effective personnel policies and sound organizational structures.
