As the Director of Security Technology and Access Control (STAC) I strategically direct the selection, application, and use of security and access control technologies, including video surveillance, access control hardware, license plate recognition, radio communications, alarms, and duress, all in a manner that enhances security and safety and minimizes risk. • I lead a team who support all security technology and access control systems, including camera installation and maintenance, access control and locksmithing, preventative maintenance, and other technologies and systems as needed, • As is needed, I lead and/or oversee project management for security and access control efforts, often contributing my IT and network engineering expertise in what is more and more, a technology industry. • I partner with Information Technology Services to leverage LMU’s talented application development team who wrote custom integrations between multiple systems for a streamlined role-based access control assignment process. • I partner with LMU’s Facilities Management team to streamline work requests between our teams and ensure that the right staff are being dispatched for repair and service requests. • Whenever possible, I am evaluating new and emerging technologies, ever watchful for solutions that can help achieve my goal of top tier safety and functionality of our systems.

I was the Infrastructure Architect with the goal of building common designs, standards, and strategies between the different teams and departments at Loyola Marymount University. Highlights of my accomplishments: • Designed low voltage cable systems for new construction and ensured that architectural drawings were complete and accurate. Supervised installation of cable systems to ensure approved plans were followed. • Developed and published technology standards, policies, and approved products documents. • Managed campus fiber infrastructure including designing a new fiber backbone and the decommissioning of old copper and multimode infrastructure. Worked with Facilities Management to install new conduit pathways. • Forecasted costs and developed budgets for technology in new construction and annual capital replacement. • Supported and troubleshot security technology issues for the Department of Public Safety. • Managed projects for the infrastructure team. Documented progress in project management software. • Provided guidance on high level technical architectural discussions, keeping a whole campus perspective. • Developed a strategy and helped secure funding for a complete campus upgrade to the Wi-Fi 6 standard

I was the senior engineer on the network team that designs, improves, and maintains the network infrastructure. Highlights of my accomplishments: • Amazon Web Services – An ongoing project to integrate AWS with our existing infrastructure with the goal of making AWS available for use as a platform for applications and IaaS. • Multigigabit and Wave 2 AC Wireless – Ongoing project to replace aging infrastructure with Multigigabit capable switching and wave 2 access points. • Network Re-architecture 2.0 – This is an ongoing project to completely re-architect the network design from the ISP to distribution at our law school campus. • DDI – An ongoing project to update our IP address management, DNS, and DHCP services. • IPv6 – Ongoing project to enable end to end IPv6 connectivity. • Aruba – This was a project at our law school to install a completely new wireless authentication system as well as migrate to a new controller infrastructure. The project was completed with zero downtime to users. • Data Center Move – This was a project to move our infrastructure from an old outdated datacenter to our newly constructed datacenter. • Employee of the Year – 2015-2016

I was the lead engineer on the network team worked to design, improve, and maintain the network infrastructure. Highlights of my accomplishments are: • New Datacenter – This was a massive project in which we converted an old telecom room into a state of the art datacenter. The project required that we work in a space where downtime was not possible. We installed all new cabinets, hot isle containment, pre-action fire suppression, chilled water mechanical systems, in row CRVs, and converted an old office into a stand-alone UPS room with generator backup. The project required the reinforcement of the floor due to static loads, the relocation of 300+ pairs of fiber, and the relocation of our network infrastructure into server cabinets. • Life Science Building – This project was to plan, build, and configure the network infrastructure in a brand new 100,000 square foot science building. The space contains of state of the art classrooms, labs, and technology which all needed to be supported by robust network infrastructure. • Cisco Wireless Controller – I installed and configured a highly available pair of cisco 8510 wireless LAN controllers and then migrated our entire wireless infrastructure from eight WiSMs to the new system with no downtime. • Stadium Wireless – Designed and installed a new wireless network to support 4200 users in the basketball arena using Cisco’s stadium wireless solutions. • Firewall Audit – I went through our firewalls line by line auditing and documenting every line, object, and NAT. • Internet Improvements – Working with our ISP we were able to utilize DWDM to bring additional bandwidth to our campus. We also constructed a secondary outbound path for geographical redundancy. • Infrastructure Audit – After taking responsibility Law School network operations I performed a complete audit and documentation of the infrastructure.

I worked in a hybrid role spending roughly half of my time working on security related projects and half my time on network related project. Highlights of my accomplishments are: • Network Re-Architecture – This was a long running project to completely re-architect the network and security design from the ISP edge to our distribution points. • Palo Alto – This was a project to replace our existing Palo Alto 4020 firewalls with new Palo Alto 5050 firewalls. The project included a new design, configuration, and implementation. • McAfee Antivirus – This project was to replace an old Symantec antivirus system with a new McAfee system. I configured a new ePO server and migrated all campus computers to the new system. • Splunk – In this project I migrated from our old kiwi syslog server to a new Splunk deployment

As an entry level technician worked to improve enterprise networking skills working within a campus infrastructure. Assisted on projects including hardware upgrades to both the LAN and WLAN infrastructure. • Worked as part of a team that upgraded the campus network to 1Gbps line speed. • Utilized network-monitoring tools to monitor network infrastructure for issues and remedy them. • Used Microsoft DHCP server to manage DHCP reservations and scopes across the network. • Installed access points as part of a project to improve wireless coverage on various parts of campus. • Worked in off hours to upgrade and replace defective uninterruptible power supplies in the access layer data closets. • Responded to tier two helpdesk requests concerning problems with network connectivity on LAN and WLAN.
