The Global RAS Unit (GRASU) is responsible for harmonizing the overall RAS program of the World Bank with corporate-level activities benefitting all current and future RAS engagements and deliver strategically relevant RAS programs to selected countries. Focal Point for the KSA G20 RAS • Supporting the coordination of the operations of GRASU’s own managed RAS by monitoring its quality and impact. • Liaising with subject matter experts and operational specialists from other units and Global Practices to provide support in the implementation of the RAS. • Contributing to the preparation of analytical and advisory services activities, including data collection and processing, preparation of inputs to reports, and conduct independent research and analysis. • Supporting teams in the planning, preparation and supervision of engagements, including responsibilities for ensuring adherence to World Bank’s RAS and TF operational policies and quality requirements. • Coordinating the mobilizing and implementing trust grants linked to engagements and plan and organize training workshops, study tours and other learning events for the client.

The GFDRR is a global partnership that helps developing countries better understand and reduce their vulnerability to natural hazards and climate change. Focal Point for Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) & Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regions • Managed LAC and MENA Trust Fund portfolio including grant proposals review to improve quality of project design; portfolio performance review (disbursement rate, use of fund) and resource allocation. • Undertook project portfolio reviews to support Task Team Leaders with timely implementation of grants and quality of program reporting in accordance with the Annual Work Plan • Prepared financial analysis, including qualitative and quantitative grant monitoring and impact reporting of GFDRR grants and other DRR activities for donors, World Bank and other partners. Focal Point for USAID Single Trust Fund – $3M Knowledge Management Team Member • Supporting the development and implementation of global and regional DRM capacity program for disaster prone countries in MENA. Cross Support Staff for Disaster Risk Management Agenda in MENA Region • Served as focal point for Technical Cooperation Program with the Government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the finalization of the Preliminary Risk Profile report. • Led the formalization of the Kuwait Risk Profiling Assessment • Strengthening DRM Capacity in Egypt and Lebanon. • Served as focal point for the Damage Needs Assessment for Iraq and Yemen. Donors/Stakeholders Relations and Partnerships Liaison • Liaise with existing and potential partner countries and multi-lateral organizations, such as Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Presidency of Meteorology & Environment (PME), and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to support the delivery of knowledge and capacity building (online courses and face to face training); development of DRM policies and guidelines; launching of programs and donor workshop.

US-SABC is an Organization of business leaders in both countries working together to increase trade and investment, by promoting broader understanding among U.S. and Saudi Arabian companies. • Leading liaison between US-SABC and Saudi companies and Public sector, this resulted in bringing in two of the most prestigious Saudi companies as new members to the Council. • Targeted new market segment in Saudi Arabia to promote US-SABC Publications, which resulted in receiving approximately $120,000 for new sponsorship ads. • Communicated effectively with both U.S. and Saudi companies to bring them together into partnership or Joint Venture.

• Advised clients in the development of their business objectives and advertising strategy, managed the advertising team and monitored progress and results. • Team leader in developing an advertising plan focused on the best form of media for specific clients and campaigns, applying detailed knowledge of media owners in a range of geographical locations. • Conducted strategic analysis of local and regional markets identifying sizes, market drivers, key market segments, competition, issues, opportunities, key factors for success, to identify the best media vehicles to use for each campaign.

• Monitored business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and forecasting operations. • Directed the preparation of budget reports and the customization of those reports based for specialized analysis when consulting with managers. • Reviewed operating budgets, analyzed trends and provided recommendations to address any deviation from forecasts.
