George P. Nassos

George P. Nassos is the former Director of the MS in Sustainability Management program at DePaul University Driehaus College of Business and was also an Executive-in-Residence. He is also engaged in numerous activities relating to sustainability and energy – providing corporate training, marketing an on-site waste-to-energy system, marketing a new software/hardware technology for more efficient solar energy, offering improved financial performance via sustainability, as well as consulting for numerous companies. In February 2025, he authored the third edition of a book published by John Wiley & Sons titled "Practical Sustainability Strategies: How to Excel in ESG and Gain a Competitive Advantage" He recently published another book that should be of interest to everyone: "15 Life Lessons from My Immigrant Parents: That You Don't Learn in School"; available on Amazon. For the past 20 years, he has written a monthly environmental article that is distributed to a contact list of about 100 as well as posted on LinkedIn. Prior to going on his own, for 14 years he was an Industry Associate Professor and Director of the MS in Environmental Management and Sustainability program at IIT’s Stuart School of Business. Through his efforts the program was ranked number 11 in the world by the Aspen Institute. Before joining IIT, Nassos spent 16 years in the chemical industry with International Minerals & Chemical Corp including roles as Managing Director of IMC’s Dutch and German subsidiaries. He then spent the next 15 years in the environmental industry working for the Chemical Waste Management subsidiary of Waste Management, Inc. where he developed waste to fuel technology. Dr. Nassos has earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois, an M.S. and Ph.D. from Northwestern University all in Chemical Engineering, and an MBA from Northwestern.
