George Mboya

George Mboya is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of SSP America, an airport concessionaire with close to 450 restaurants and retail stores in nearly 60 airports across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and South America. He is guiding the organization into its next chapter of sustainable growth, building on the company’s PASSION Principles, bolstering them with financial acumen, and bringing a sense of place to airports across the Americas. Under his leadership, SSP America is deepening its investment in its people, fostering a workplace where dignity and opportunity thrive, and equipping leaders with the insights they need to deliver lasting success. Since joining SSP America in 2017, George has played a central role in the company’s financial and strategic evolution. His ability to communicate complex financial information empowers operators and support center team members to make fact-based decisions that drive lasting strategic results. His efforts have driven company revenue growth of over 300% through organic expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and profitable new business bids. Over his 20 years in hospitality and contract food services, George has been recognized as a champion of servant leadership—fostering inclusivity and developing people to build a foundation of organizational success. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Compass Group USA's Eurest division, which serves over 1 million meals a day to companies nationwide. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance roles at Compass Group Canada and Sodexo Canada. George began his career at the Christ Unlimited Bible Training Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. He speaks four languages, holds an MBA in Finance from United States International University-Africa, and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
