• Review and compile the Power Plant Life of Plan and Five year technical plan. • Initiate and support electrical projects improvements/engineering change and assisting the electrical system engineer in the preparation of the engineering design details. • Prepare electrical equipment specifications work scope and project terms of reference. • Formulations of maintenance scope of works for the primary and secondary plant electrical equipment. • Prepare yearly departmental operational and capital expenditure budget. • Assessing the electrical plant technical condition and its life expectancy, Review generator operational parameters, generator winding vibration, partial discharge, generator rotor stray flux, shaft voltage current monitoring (VCM) and generate long term health plans. • Liaise with the GMEC stakeholders on technical matters to the National Grid Corporation of the Phils. Consultants and to GMEC shareholder. • Provide inputs on the development of the plant outage philosophy.

• Design Develop and Implement modified Plant control design logic modification. • Provide support to the operation and maintenance team, lead RCA’s in analyzing plant electrical troubles, tripping incident and provide recommendations to refrain recurring. • Performed plant electrical studies such as short circuit analysis, load flow, protective relay device coordination studies, cable sizing and motor starting analysis. • Evaluate bids, analyze cost and recommend approval to the management for plant electrical projects improvements. • Participate in design review meetings with equipment vendors, contractors and owners engineers’ consultant. • Participate in formulation of yearly operating and capital expenditure budget. • Support to the engineering manager in developing contracts to the consultants, supplier and contractor. • Review generator health condition by constantly monitoring the trends of the generator end winding vibration, generator stray flux, generator partial discharge and Generator shaft voltage and current monitoring. • Prepare root cause analysis report on electrical initiated tripping incident, download, and analyze disturbance recording generated in the protection relay or in the ametek fault recorder. • Performed performance test on the generator excitation system such as no load and on load step response test. • Lead the plant commissioning test in reinstating the overall electrical protection. • Responsible for external coordination with the Philippine National Grid and Grid Management Committee and ensure that the plant is fully compliant on technical matters. • Responsible in administering the plant Network Control System SCADA for the 230kV GIS Substation and the formulation of the switching/isolation in the Plant HV electrical equipment.

•Review tender Electrical/Instrument documents submitted by the EPC contractor but not limited to Electrical/Instrument and Control Design Criteria, Drawings, Relay Coordination and Vendor’s documents specific on the following system.  Turbine Generator System  High and Medium Voltage Electrical System  DC & UPS system  Plant Control System Packages such us DCS and PLC system.  Boiler and BOP System  Water Treatment System •Perform site inspections of the installed electrical and instrument equipment, resolve site issues if there will be conflict arise from the other trades. •Review and approve construction inspection checklist submitted by the contractor’s. •Witness functional and Acceptance test performed by equipment vendors. •Lead the E/I&C Team in performing pre-commissioning and commissioning of the Plant control and electrical equipment. •Coordinate contractor’s engineers and owner’s consultant if there will be highly technical issues that cannot resolve in the site. •Review Turn-Over Package and As-built plans to ensure all electrical equipment are properly documented. •Issued and Monitor Electrical Punch list and Warranty Notification. •Liaise with the National Grid if there will be Transmission Line issue.

•Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning test of Electrical Protection for Motor’s, Transformer’s and Generator’s •Perform functional test of engine protection. •Establish documented operational procedure. •Monitors daily energy production and fuel consumption. •Lead the operation and maintenance group in performing root cause analysis. •Act as Switchboard Reliever.
