Here I had the chance to spend some time in the Private Wealth sector working on a range of client cases analysing areas such as: -Client portfolio asset allocation -Recommendation of funds -Due diligence I also had the opportunity to attended a briefing seminar with an AXA Framlington fund manager and I had the chance to ask questions regarding the fund managers approach to asset selection. My time spent with the team here was invaluable.

Following completion of my first year at Northumbria University, I was offered the opportunity to complete a 4 week summer placement at Tait-Walker, based in Gosforth within the wealth management department. Here I scanned client portfolios and created review reports offering suggestions on possible changes to be made in the future to meet the clients current risk profile and their financial objectives. I also developed a new asset allocation model for Tait-Walker using Microsoft Excel. I was also invited to attended seminars with fund managers such as Alistair Mundy who manages the M&G Cautious Management Fund. These were fantastic learning opportunities as they allowed me to see a number of areas a financial adviser looks into when actively involved in management of client portfolios. I am very grateful for the opportunity I had here and for the time and effort in which the team at TW put into teaching me.
