• Developed from scratch a new methodology for the aerodynamic design of centrifugal compressors • Created a one dimensional pre-sizing tool giving the aerodynamic overall shape of the whole stage: - Designed a meanline calculation procedure aiming at optimizing the final performance - Implemented Excel/VBA macros computing the thermodynamic and aerodynamic data of the whole centrifugal compressor stage (air inlet, impeller, diffuser, interstage spaces and scroll casing) - Post-processed the final performance through an automatic generation of preliminary compressor maps linked to appropriate one dimensional loss models • Created a 2.5D sizing tool software under Scilab environment (open-licensed Matlab counterpart): - Derivated the streamline curvature equations applied to Euler compressible flows - Implemented complex algorithms and convergence schemes to solve the meridian flow - Achieved a software able to generate a precise drawing of the impeller geometry, with aerodynamic optimization of the aiflow guidelines and of the blades' profile
