Taking care of my own family over the past year, is helping me re-focus: weaving my personal strengths, values and creative potential - into my next career move and objective....

Incorporated in 1996 shortly after moving to New York City, I spent the first half 10 years learning and challenging myself visually and technically from a wide range of photographers. My second half, working with one photographer; deepening my skills and participating in the full cycle - from preproduction to job delivery; finally emerging as a full time photographer.

Photography Specialist in the Create Neighborhood of Camp. Teaching Kindergarten to 7th Graders Photography, and Loving it.

Photograph the NMNY Collection (Daytime and Evening Wear) working closely with the Creative Director and Designer, and provide retouched images for promotion - including their vendors (Dillard's and Lord & Taylor) through their website, mailers, social media and eBlasts.

Photographed the latest Nicole Miller collections in collaboration with Wholesale and E-commerce departments, and delivered retouched imagery for their Website, Line Sheets and eBlasts on a monthly basis. Working in tandem with the Art department and styling team, I also photographed their Lookbooks [2016 Fall best sellers, 2017 spring dresses, 2017 Fall best sellers ], distributed to VIP clients and potential new wholesale accounts.

Hired to modernize the look of their website, I photographed the products of cutting edge designers with a modern urban style. Collaborating with the owner on styling, editing and retouching - I delivered upload-ready images of backpacks, blouses, coats, handbags, hats, headbands, leather skirts and dresses.

Edited and retouched his work for clients and personal projects. Printed his portfolios, for private collectors, exhibitions and made printer proofs for his book: On Yoga, The Architecture of Peace - published by Taschen in 2015 and printed in Italy.

Ushered the photographer into the digital age by recognizing the importance and understanding the critical nature of a digital workflow, and implemented processes to meet those demands. Chose the appropriate DAM software to manage his digital archives, continually adding to it by scanning chromes and negative film - dating back to the 70’s. I became a CaptureOne certified Digital Technician - responsible for ensuring his look and the vision of his client was achieved digitally on location or in post production.

Responsible for ensuring shoots for high-profile clients ran smoothly. Understood the purpose of the shoot, the format for the day and equipment needed to purchase or rent. Independently traveled to and scouted locations and managed a crew of photo assistants to set up the lighting and be camera-ready when the photographer arrived. When faced with production or technical problems, I handled them with discretion, confidence and ease.

I chose RISD not for "being one of the best colleges of art and design around the world", but because the creative energy I felt the students and teachers exuded was so challenging - and the projects they were collaborating on, inspired me. I knew there and then - that my dream of becoming a commercial photographer, would become a reality.
