About

Genisha Metcalf is a social impact executive specializing in corporate social responsibility, workforce innovation, and equity-driven philanthropy. She brings cross-sector experience in tech, sports, higher education and nonprofit leadership to design and scale initiatives that advance economic mobility. Genisha currently serves as Head of Partnerships for the NBA Foundation, leading strategy for the NBA’s $300M commitment to economic opportunity in all 30 NBA markets. In this role, she leads high-impact partnerships with NBA teams and players, corporate partners, and academic institutions to expand access for HBCU students, entrepreneurs, and early-career seekers. Under her leadership, the NBA Foundation launched the Tech Challenge at AfroTech, established a $1M Collaborative Grantmaking Fund, and expanded national partnerships with American Express, Comcast, and Amplitude. Prior to joining the NBA, Genisha held senior social impact strategy roles across the private and nonprofit sectors. She led national digital capacity-building strategy as Program Manager for Meta’s $32M Black Community Nonprofit Fund and directed cause marketing and civic engagement strategy as Head of Campaigns at DoSomething.org, serving a five-million-member global youth platform. Her social impact leadership roles at Columbia University, City Year New York, and Utica College focused on building cross-sector partnerships to increase access to workforce development and civic engagement opportunities. As an independent consultant, Genisha secured $10M in funding to support digital inclusion, restorative justice, and mental health initiatives for the Successful STEPS program and awarded $1.2M in scholarship funding. Genisha is a trusted advisor to leaders on philanthropy strategy, community engagement, and equitable program design. Grounded in her early career as a social worker in the South Bronx, her work centers equity, community voice, and sustainable systems change. She is the founder of the COOL Kids Giving Circle, a City Council appointee to Harlem’s Community Board 10, and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Genisha holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Temple University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University.
