Mr. G B S Raju is the Business Chairman, GMR Airports, which is a leading global infrastructure conglomerate with significant expertise in Airports, Energy, Transportation, and Urban Infrastructure. Mr. Raju is a 2nd generation entrepreneur, and is driven by his passion for creating new business verticals, transforming businesses and giving back to the society. Mr. Raju is the elder son of Mr. G M Rao, the founder Chairman of GMR Group. GMR Airports is the world’s second largest private airport operator with the world’s 2nd largest passenger handling capacity (over 100 million annually), and integrated airports platform with wide ranging capabilities and pan-Asian footprint. It operates key airports like Delhi, India’s largest and fastest-growing airport, Hyderabad, an innovative greenfield airport, and New Goa, India's first destination airport and is a pioneer in implementing the “Aerotropolis” concept in India at Delhi, Hyderabad and Goa. The Group is also developing a greenfield airport at Visakhapatnam. Under his visionary leadership, the Group has established GMR Aero Technic as India’s largest integrated world-class third-party MRO and provides complete technical support to aircraft operators. Most recently, we have inaugurated the GMR School of Aviation, offering an integrated AME 147 course certified by EASA and DGCA respectively. In addition, Mr. Raju spends time in business ideation and developing new business verticals across various sectors. In line with his commitment to giving back to society, Mr. Raju spearheads GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, the CSR Arm of GMR Group, which aims to enhance people's lives by improving skills, education, and healthcare infrastructure, fostering a better quality of life, in all locations where the Group has business presence.
