I pioneered the Emerging and Local Corporates businesses in the Abuja, Kaduna and Plateau States and achieved a remarkable result of growing the balance sheet from Zero to more than N10billon liabilities/assets from June 2012 to December 2016. The business was later renamed Commercial Banking in 2013 and handled all the local manufacturing, contractors to meet their request for Bid security bonds, APG and PB issuance. Offered invoice discounting facility,SRF, OD,term loan and marketing of the major oil and gas downstream players etc. I was later appointed as the Ag. Group Head for the Commercial Banking business, North in July 2016 to November 2016. The Commercial Banking North covers Abuja FCT, kaduna, Kano, Jos, part of Kogi etc. Supported our customers with Trade and LC payments, structured deals for the oil and gas customers and provision of FX needs to all these customers through the CBN FX window and other alternative market sources. In July 2017, I was redeployed to Ibadan South West Region to revamp the Commercial Banking Business in Ibadan and part of Ogun State where we have the industrial layout of Oluwole in Ibadan and Ibadan/Ijebu Ode Axis for the local Corporates to meet their yearning needs in the agricultural and Agro industry, foods hospitality, beverages, construction,commerce sectors of the economy. Promoted and appointed to pioneer the Lagos Mainland 2 Grp in February 2019 to handle all Commercial Banking Businesses in Lagos Mainland and the Lagos/Ibadan Express Way to Mowe, Ibafo, Iperu and Shagamu Ijebu Axis. My coverage area also extended to Magodo, Alausa, Isolo Industrial to as far as Yaba area for First Bank of Nigeria Limited. The record of achievement on this job was outstanding as the Commercial Business expanded from single digit figure in billions to double digits and customer acquisition quadrupled within the 3 years of managing this group before I was appointed as the Managing Director/CEO of FirstBank Gambia Limited in late 2021.

As the Branch Head of the Regional Office and the largest branch of Sterling Bank Abuja FCT; I Supervised all the marketing sectors of Retail, Commercial, Construction, Public Sector and retail branch operations of the business. Chief Strategist of the business and has full responsibility for the profit and loss and management of the human capital talents and material resources available to achieve the bank’s objective.

Worked for both Intercontinental Bank and later Access Bank in September 2011 to January 26,2012. I was the Business Development Manager and Branch manager Retail Banking in Gudu And Garki Area 3 Branches for Intercontinental Bank from 2009 to September 2011 for Intercontinental Bank and later head of Branch for the Commercial Banking Business in Access Bank. The following duties of Preparation of credits and approval for loan customers, marketing for fresh deposit, management of human resources and supervision of staff for optimum service delivery and other relationship management. Strategic and budgeting aspiration for the branch and expansion and customer acquisition etc

Arbitraging in the money market, Currency trading as the Chief Naira Dealer for the Bank and managing the CBN statement of Account to meet the CRR, and other Liquidity needs of the bank to meet regulatory requirements and provide funding for FX bids etc. Trading in Money market Security like Treasury Bills and carry out the management of the liquidity of the bank.Marketing of High Networt Individual and trustees organisations and special investment needs of Corporate Stockbrokers and other Capital Market players and Financial Institutions. Was the Head of regulatory liaison for the regulatory agencies like CBN, SEC, EFCC and other government institutions and Ministries Departments. Manger the regional deposits and assets for liquidity needs and all branches for optimal liquidity management and profitability. Handled the public sector part of the treasury business for the actual nation of the receipt of funds from Accountant General to make sure all the FAAC, JAAC and 13% derivation funds are received for all our state governments that we have the mandates. Monitored the internal revenue collection platform and achievement of stated objectives in all the states of the federation where the Bank has substantial business and market share

I was in charge of the staff welfare and carried out Compensation survey and formulation of policy to aid executive management in rewarding all staff adequately. Process led Payment of monthly salaries and other allowances like Upfront, Car Loans, Welfare and Staff loans and processing of staff leave allowances, Takeover loans, Recruitment of new hires processing of medicals allowances and regulatory liaison with HMO and other staff related issues. Relief the Senior HR heads and aid in obtaining management approval for higher level and C-suite recruitment etc. implementation of the outcome of DC hearings and decisions and communicating same to erring staff etc.

Strategic planning of the branch control process to mitigate risk and fraudulent practices. Daily call over of vouchers, GL Review of balances, supervision of branch control processes and procedures. Liaison with Head of Internal control for submission of weekly reports of exceptions and follow up with staff for the regularization of annual internal audits reports and exceptions and other duties. As Resident Control officer in Central Clearing depar of the bank in Marina, Lagos, I wrote the SOP for the internal Control frameworks for the control envi in the Central Clearing to forestall and mitiga fraud in the central processing unit of the department. Wrote the TAT and carry out Management decisions on Clearing Cheques to meet the Universal banking requirements etc as directed by the CBN

Supervised other Resident Control and Internal Audit Officers in Warri, Sapele, Abraka, Orekrokpe, Ughelli, Ozoro, Oleh branches to mitigate and prevent frauds and loss of funds in daily transactions of the operations staff. Training of other internal Audit and control officers in these satellite branches for Compliance. Monitoring of their Daily call over of tickets and reports and enforcement of banking policies and rules.monitoring of General Ledger and other balance sheet review jobs. Supervision of other control officers within my regional purview etc

I joined United Bank For Africa PLC (UBA in Warri Delta State in June 1997 as a Youth Corper and part of the Strategic hires to be converted after the one year mandatory service period. I was successful in the graduate entry level recruitment process in June 1998 and was well trained in Customer Service, Cash tellering Bulk Cash tellering duty, Funds Transfer and other branch Operations like administrative jobs of salaries and wages payment reconciliation and other retail banking Operations and Services. I was also an internal control staff calling over daily transactions vouchers and enforced regular reconciliation and reversal of wrong entries
