As a biotechnology graduate from Florida Institute of Technology, I have a strong passion for human genetics and its applications in healthcare and disease prevention. My master's degree equipped me with various wet lab and dry lab techniques, such as molecular cloning, PCR, sequencing, bioinformatics, and data analysis, that I applied in several research projects and internships. For instance, I contributed to the Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) project at AyuVis Research Inc, where I performed molecular and cellular experiments, analyzed data, and reported results. BPD is a lung disorder that affects premature infants and has no effective treatment. I also co-authored a publication in the International Journal of Nutrition, Pharmacology, Neurological Disease, where I reviewed the epigenetic effects of early life adversities on child development and adult health outcomes, such as depression and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, I obtained multiple certifications from the World Health Organization on topics such as infection prevention and control, after action review, and competency-based learning. I am a quick learner, a good communicator, and a team player, who values collaboration, innovation, and excellence. My goal is to pursue a career in human genetics as a research enthusiast, who can contribute to the advancement of science and the improvement of human health. I am eager to apply my skills and knowledge in new and challenging contexts, and to learn from experienced mentors and peers.
