Initially, I was tasked with setting up and creating tutorials on the company's recently purchased Epilog Helix 24 laser engraver. To complete this task, I had to setup the air filter ducting, model and print wall hooks to hold up said ducting, setup the Desktop PC to work with the engraver, and learn how to use CorelDraw. Eventually, I began work on my second project, which was to set up a way to remotely view the progress of laser engraving. To account for the very real danger of a fire starting, I am currently working on a fire detection system that utilizes machine learning to immediately detect when a fire begins and send an alert. After this, I will begin creating software that will allow a computer to view an engraving live from anywhere.

I interned at Dr. Kufareva's lab in the Skaggs Pharmaceutical Sciences building. I spent much of my internship doing immunofluorescence microscopy, researching the trafficking patterns of CCR2 and CCR5. I also did some programming. Specifically, I programmed an interactive graph for the labs data gained from their APEX Proximinty Biotinylation experiment. I am extremely gratefully for all that I have learned -both biology and computationally- from this experience.
