It is about keeping people safe in an environment where, regardless of the challenges, we are open to innovation and reform. At a time of fiscal challenges for many jurisdictions, governments and police services share a common goal of keeping people and communities safe, while ensuring policing services are delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible. Executive Board Member of the Indianapolis Division of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force with the US Attorney General Office.We take part in multi-agency task forces, intelligence groups and fusion centers, and public and private sector alliances. A number of partners literally sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the FBI space, just as the FBI shares their agents and analysts with other agencies. We work closely on joint investigations sometimes taking the lead, , sometimes contributing equally among many agencies. I provide oversite for Task Force Officers from Indianapolis and Fusion Center Operators. The Executive Board is briefed quarterly as to what the JTTF is currently working on and/or completed.

Combating terrorism remains the number one priority of the United States Department of Justice. Each United States Attorney s Office has important responsibilities in the fight against international and domestic terrorism. The Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council (ATAC), a high-level group of law enforcement and government officials whose agencies are involved in the anti-terrorism effort in Indiana. Meetings provide an opportunity for members to report on the status and progress of anti-terrorism initiatives, upcoming exercises and training opportunities, and to receive up-to-date information on a host of other issues. The mission of the ATAC is to promote information sharing, provide training, coordinate the overall anti-terrorism mission, work closely with the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and aggressively prosecute any international or domestic terrorist or terrorism-related cases.

The Police Executive Research Forum sponsors the Senior Management Institute for Police to provide comprehensive professional management and executive development education to police chiefs and other law enforcement executives. The curriculum is held at Boston University with instructors from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Overarching Goal and Objectives: To provide an educational forum to enhance senior leaders' capacity to identify and resolve homeland security problems as well as an opportunity to build networks among the nation's local, tribal, state, federal government and private sector homeland security officials. To strengthen the national security of the United States by providing a graduate level educational program that meets the immediate and long-term needs of leaders responsible for homeland defense and security.
