Monitored and reported to management the progress of all fielding activity, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect fielding cost or schedule. Devised and executed action plans to rectify potential fielding cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advised the users and PMO leadership of any such changes, as well as completing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. • Acting as a Portfolio Manager and providing consulting advisory services and implementation support for developing processes, governance, and utilizing industry best practices and tools for the new PMO. • Work closely with the Program Executive Office (PEO) Sr. Leaders to develop Statements of Work, Requirements Documentation, Requests for Proposals, define scope, Acquisitions and Procurement timeframes for implementation of capabilities of the PEO through Strategic Planning, Portfolio Resource Management , managing a multi-project environment, developing a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) organizational maturity model with applied roles and responsibilities and developing a Road Map to Implement a PMO . • Interact with individual Project Managers within the Benefits Division and provide guidance and support for standardized project management processes, documentation, and reporting in accordance with federal and DVA guidelines and requirements. • Develop processes, instructions, templates, tools, and other items to support the stand up and institutionalization of the PEO by developing and maintaining the Plan of Action and Milestones documentation (POA&M). • Assess and amend the current COOP/DR capabilities for the Benefits Program Executive Office to encompass all hardware, software, networking capabilities and personnel for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Benefits Program Executive Office.
