About
Denroy is a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of High Performance Engineering Thermoplastic components and products. As Denroy's Chief Commercial Officer I oversee the Commercial and Technical engineering side of the business focusing on growth and making sure that our customers, whether existing, new or potential, are at the forefront of everything we do. Aerospace is a key industry for Denroy, I am currently the Chair of the ADS Aerospace Export Focus Group and sit on the committee for the Royal Aeronautical Society’s Northern Ireland Branch. I am also responsible for the Commercial activities of our Denpro brand of PPE and medical devices. An engineer at heart, my background as a Materials Engineer and previously as a Mechanical Design Engineer has given me a good technical foundation on which to base my career.

Bangor
Responsible for business growth by winning new contracts, setting up new relationships to enable growth and promoting Denroy in industry. My main focus in this role was in the Aerospace industry but I also worked across our other industries including Automotive, Medical and Defence.

Consulting materials engineer
RADMET Consulting
RADMET Consulting
As a mechanical engineer at Radmet I consulted on a wide variety of industrial issues. My day to day job involved failure analysis on mechanical and material failures, offering mechanical design advice and writing technical reports for clients. As an engineering assistant I worked on many cases involving metallic failures and acquired skills in failure and corrosion analysis as well as microscopic examination. I extended my knowledge of materials and my responsibilities included conducting professional tests and experiments, preparing samples for examination and writing up technical reports.

Mechanical Design Engineer
Schrader Electronics
As a Mechanical Design Engineer I worked predominately on Sensata's next generation of Motorbike TPMS and valves. I worked extensively with manufacturing to refine our laser weld process to ensure that the weld is robust. I worked with suppliers in Europe to ensure our moulded parts were of the high standard expected within the automotive industry and I got involved in customer discussions and gave technical presentations to several large automotive OEM customers. During my time in this position I was the lead Mechanical contact for our Far East OEM customers to whom I provided technical support.

Mechanical Design Engineer
Working in a technology start-up in Silicon Valley was a fantastic experience which I learnt a lot from. Tactus Technology is still in its early stages of growth and as a result the company is very fast paced. I worked as part of the mechanical engineering team and was responsible for several of my own projects involving designing new product components, testing products, manufacturing and problem solving. As a result of working for a venture capitalist backed start-up I have also developed a far greater interest in the business side of engineering.

Mechanical Engineer
Schrader Electronics
Antrim
During my placement in the Research and Development department I was given several projects involving design of jigs for testing components and materials, the testing and analysis of these items and designing tools specific to the sensors. I continued to work with Schrader Electronics after my internship, completing my dissertation project with the company. I am also currently working on an advanced research project for the company as part of my masters.

Mechanical Engineer
During my internship in Caterpillar's Electric Power Division I worked on a variety of projects in different areas such as structure design, technical research, testing and evaluation. I completed work on several projects which were used in actual generators. I developed an understanding of engineering within industry and in particular within a large, international company, having to frequently talk with co‐workers and customers around the world.
