The Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island is a 294-bed community hospital. The hospital is a teaching affiliate of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Working at the pharmacy I had the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary care providers to monitor, assess, and intervene as needed to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective medication use. I performed interpretation, evaluation, preparation and dispensing of medications pursuant to a legitimate order or prescription in keeping with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice and scope of pharmacy services.

I started my pharmacy carrier at Rite Aid Corporation. My goal was to experience a dynamic career in which I could make a contribution to health care. I enjoyed the fast pace, dynamic environment and most importantly working with great team of people. I ensured the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions by conducting Drug Utilization Reviews and Final Quality Assurance in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. Supervised pharmacy associates, counseled patients regarding health care needs.

Critical Care Systems is a home infusion company. The company offers a cost-effective alternative to hospitalization, providing pharmaceutical products and comprehensive infusion services in alternative site settings. As a pharmacist I coordinated patient services with the Nursing Department, monitored patient progress toward goals, educated patients, caregivers, staff and other professionals regarding appropriate medication use.
