Gabe is Founder and CEO of Verdant Robotics, Inc., a robotics technology company focused on revolutionizing agriculture through the latest advances in AI, robotics, computer vision and machine learning. He was formerly: * CEO of Zippy Inc., an autonomous delivery company which was acquired by GM-Cruise * Chief Science Officer at the autonomous taxi company Zoox, Inc. where he helped grow the team to over 200, set the technical direction and raise ~$292m series A * Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder (on leave) * Post-doctoral research assistant at the Oxford University working with Professor Paul Newman * PhD student at University of Southern California with Professor Gaurav Sukhatme * Technical Staff in the Computer Vision Group at NASA-JPL with Dr. Larry Matthies Gabe enjoys building teams that apply robotics science and systems to solve real-world problems. His work involves the synthesis of perception, learning, planning and control to endow robots with long-term autonomous capability. He believes this only matters if it happens in the real world with meaningful applications.
